WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
The Product Manager is accountable for identifying, defining and implementing meaningful features that add customer value and meet business goals. As the expert of your product area, you will develop deep knowledge of the customer, market and industry, constantly assessing how the product is performing and prioritizing what should be worked on based on that analysis. You will also develop deep knowledge of the Sounding Board business so that every decision is aligned with the corporate vision and goals.
You will work closely with your cross-functional counterparts, including product designers, product owners, program manager, UXR and engineers to execute the roadmap. As a missionary of the Sounding Board product, you will evangelize the product both internally and externally, and educate the internal organization, including the C-suite, on product updates and future plans.
Additional Product Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Lead discovery activities for your product area; set up listening posts, and field requests from internal and external stakeholders
Deeply understand our customer’s workflows, needs and user personas to inform new opportunities to improve the customer experience
Work cross-functionally between Product, Design, Engineering, QA, and Operations teams to facilitate and own product development
Use agile principles to create business cases, PRD’s, epics and user stories that drive the Sounding Board software development process
Define clear outcomes and metrics that measure the business impact of new features
Constantly monitor product performance, and utilize this information to guide prioritization and decision-making
Responsible for communication of new features or enhancements to all teams, ensuring alignment throughout the organization on current and future functionality
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS ARE REQUIRED?
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a talent for influencing without authority
Experience using JIRA/Atlassian software is a must-have
Ability to synthesize large amounts of data to drive business decisions
Expert prioritization skills with competing priorities
Expert demo-ing and general presentation skills
Experience designing and building Enterprise B2B products is a plus
Experience working in Agile (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) development environments is a plus
Working understanding of coding and technical execution of software creation
Working understanding of corporate finance in order to build solid business cases
Comfort working in a highly visible role
WHAT EXPERIENCE DO I NEED?
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science or related field; MBA strongly preferred
3-5 years of product management experience, with preferred experience building B2B SaaS solutions
Experience in the Learning and Development, Human Resources, Coaching and/or Professional Development industries preferred
Experience working in a startup environment is a plus
