We are looking for an experienced developer with knowledge of Google Apps Script to automate the synchronization of event bookings across multiple Google Calendars. Specifically, we need a system where bookings made in either the Main Hall or Meeting Room calendars should automatically create corresponding bookings in the Full Venue calendar. Additionally, when the Full Venue is booked, it should automatically create bookings in both the Main Hall and Meeting Room calendars to block those rooms as well.
Key Requirements:Two-Way Calendar Sync:
When Main Hall or Meeting Room is booked, automatically create a booking in the Full Venue calendar.
When Full Venue is booked, automatically create corresponding bookings in both Main Hall and Meeting Room calendars.
Avoid Circular Logic:
Prevent the system from creating infinite loops of event creation. For example, if a Main Hall booking creates a Full Venue booking, this should not trigger another event creation that would block the Main Hall again.
Tagging Events:
Use custom tagging (e.g., “generated_by_script”) in event descriptions to avoid re-triggering events created by the script.
Google Apps Script Integration:
Use Google Apps Script to integrate and automate the syncing process between the Google Calendar API and the various rooms’ calendars.
The solution should be cloud-based and should not require manual intervention once set up.
Time Synchronization:
Ensure that events sync correctly with respect to time zones and that no double bookings occur between rooms.
Testing and Documentation:
Thorough testing of the script to ensure correct functionality across all calendars.
Documentation on how to manage and update the script in the future.
