Remove Background from SVG File

Hello I have the attached illustration as an svg file. It was created by ai. On white backgrounds it looks nice as you can see. However, when placed on colour it doesn't look as good. I would like to have a version with is a one colour line drawing with the rest of the background being transparent. For example, on this blue background, I would change the colour of the black/dark lines to white and the rest would be the background blue. Thanks
