SUMMARY OF POSITION
Pixelberry Studios is looking for a Software Engineering Architect to help us achieve a robust test automation framework for our market-leading, award-winning mobile game “Choices" as well as drive new products and changes. You’ll be writing and maintaining test automation infrastructure, frameworks, and scripts alongside multiple engineering teams across our product suite.
You should have experience as a Sr. or Principal Software Development Engineer in Test, ideally within the mobile gaming industry. We are looking for highly motivated people who thrive with a high degree of autonomy.
Our headquarters are in Los Altos, CA but we can accommodate a remote work environment for a candidate from the following states: California, Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas, and Washington.
Currently, all Pixelberry staff work remotely with the option to work in-office, if desired.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with product and design to develop a robust testing framework for our developers, QA, and product teams to utilize
- Research, Design, Code, Test, Maintain, and Improve test automation codebases that ensure
confidence for releasing software at scale for millions of users- Champion and express ideas and designs to development teams, developing buy-in for new processes
and technologies- Influence the engineering culture and advocate engineering excellence
- Maintain a mentoring relationship with other team members
REQUIREMENTS
- BS/MS in related fields or minimum 10 years’ experience in software development
- Demonstrable ability to communicate using UML or modeling systems design
- Mastery in multiple programming languages (Python preferred, Javascript) and platforms, and database technologies
- Ability to independently design and deliver large complex projects
- Ability to provide (informal) coaching to team members to support their understanding of the architecture and aid in their technical development
- Highly productive within an Agile development environment (e.g., Scrum)
- Ability to shape the architectural vision and roadmap for the organization by working with the team, peers, the product, and design elements
- Have an understanding of the work required to perform development tasks; and be reasonably accurate when estimating achievable milestones
- Develop technical architecture that solves complex test automation issues
- Ability to research, understand, evaluate, and demonstrate novel technologies as well as promote and champion the optimum solution
- Ability to contribute toward an environment for honest and open discussions on all issues. Aptitude to involve the right people, from your team and others, to resolve critical issues
- Experience with short release cycles as well as long term software roadmaps
- Strong passion for building automated testing solutions that enable developers, manual qa, and product teams, to have confidence in releasing software at the highest possible quality and speed

Compensation Description for Pay Transparency (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $110,000 - $145,000 annually.
Our salary ranges are determined by market data based on position and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum salaries for that position. Where an individual’s pay falls within the range is determined by factors including, but not limited to, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
In some cases, compensation may fall outside of this range depending on factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
