Graphic Designer
Job Description:
Our client, a global research nonprofit, is looking to add a new graphic designer to their team! This position is a long-term contract supporting the visual and brand identity needs of the institution. This individual will assist the communications team and work cross-functionally with various company departments to determine project needs and complete deliverables. This is a remote position working EST hours.
Responsibilities:
Meet with internal clients to discuss project goals/objectives, intended audience, budget available for marketing projects, specific information to be presented and client expectations
Manage collaborative relationships and project development of design projects for both print and digital media for medium and small jobs
Projects may include but are not limited to digital content, newsletters, brochures, reports, flyers, poster presentations, posters, etc.
Perform duties of task leader for project to include ensuring that materials are available for task completion; monitoring costs to stay within budget; providing guidance and assistance throughout project; discussing project with clients and team members at key project milestones
Prepare job estimates to be reviewed and approved by management
Support development of design projects for both print and digital media
Projects may include but not limited to: digital content, newsletters, brochures, reports, flyers, poster presentations, posters, etc.
Produce rough sample of layout and present for approval
Review final product; make necessary changes
Understand and implement proper use of brand and identity guidelines for both internal corporate materials and external client branding guidelines
Uphold the design quality and brand identity in the development of all marketing materials
Design graphic elements (i.e., logos, icons, illustrations, etc.) that support a larger visual system and document strategy with guidance for extended team members to reference.
Expand and evolve existing visual systems to meet future needs.
Coordinate production of small to medium design projects.
Plan presentation of material
Determine size and arrangement of illustrative material
Select style and size of type; arrange layout based upon available space
Adhere to deadlines and budget constraints
Work with outside suppliers (e.g., print, display, video) to maximize company resources while maintaining high-quality project standards
Maintain digital media files including style sheets and optimized layout for all production of design materials
Employ tracking system for all design materials
Review final product with client and/or creative lead; make necessary changes
Ensure the completion of design projects in a timely manner
Handle several concurrent projects and work well under pressure and deadlines
Keep abreast of graphics-related technology and implement into projects
Participate in the continuous improvement of department operations
Assist in strategic brand creative planning through the identification and evaluation of new tools and technologies
Education Requirements:
Bachelors degree required
Degree in marketing or design, preferred
Desired Background/Skills:
Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in graphic/visual design
Experience with user experience, web design, and visual design required
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, required
Ability to communicate design concepts verbally
Creative writing and copy writing skills, a plus
Experience managing brand identity/corporate identity
Ability to strategize and execute based on project needs
