Under the leadership of the Director of IT, the IT Business Systems Analyst will act as a bridge between our company’s business and IT operations. The successful candidate will help ensure technology solutions and business goals are aligned so the organisation can best meet the needs of customers and employees. This position requires robust project management skills, communication skills, attention to detail, and organisational skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop detailed project plans for areas identified as focal to the business to allow for tracking of all tasks, milestones, resources, and budgets collaboratively with the Director of IT.
Drive IT projects from inception to completion, working closely with internal and external actors to ensure timely completion of tasks and activities as a part of the project plans.
Set and track project milestones; manage and account for unforeseen delays; realign schedules and expectations as needed.
Organize project activities and facilitate interdepartmental meetings to brainstorm and gather requirements, develop current or future state diagrams, and the like.
Serve as the primary liaison between the business and technical resources on projects.
Serve as the primary point of contact for staff for reporting issues with technical applications (ie: CRM, ERP, TMS) and provide gatekeeping function, either in referring them internally for training, reporting/facilitating resolution of bona fide issues to others, or directly troubleshooting and resolving the issue(s) that arise.
Facilitate, and directly test, systems against use cases as well as validate bug and issue reporting for escalation to other parties (internal and external).
Escalate items as needed to the Director of IT to ensure mitigation of potential issues before organisational or project impacts.
Assist in data management and cleanup.
Play an internal expert role in selecting aspects of our systems to be able to assist internal users.
Play an active role in learning and understanding the business top to bottom, as well as develop an understanding of operational processes to allow consultative contributions.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of five years’ experience in IT Project Management roles.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a role-related field strongly preferred
Experience with Salesforce and MS Business Central strongly desired
Significant experience in project management and process review/mapping
Meticulous attention to detail and impeccable organisational skills
Able to learn business top to bottom and have an overall understanding of operational processes to allow the person to contribute, not just coordinate/manage activities of others
Ability to manage projects, tasks, and analyses processes with minimal direction
Ability to facilitate meetings with internal stakeholders
Ability to develop flow charts (swim lane and otherwise), professorial diagrams, and functional design documents
Technical orientation, logical-analytical disposition
Ability to interact with all levels of management and act as a bridge between technical resources and business actors.
Strong ability to use all standard MS Office applications, as well as MS Project and Vision.
