We are looking for a talented and detail-oriented fantasy map illustrator to help bring a unique and immersive world to life.
Our project is based on an original fantasy setting called Planet Cube – a six-faced cubic world where each face represents a different region with its own climate, culture, and elemental identity (e.g., Nature, Order, Chaos, Illusion, etc.). The visual style we seek is vintage-fantasy, inspired by old-world atlases, with textured parchment backgrounds, elegant compass roses, clean borders, and vivid but natural colors. What we need:
High-quality hand-drawn or digital maps in fantasy/medieval style
Maps for each individual face of the cube, plus a top-down cross-shaped unfolded cube map
Integration of custom locations, such as forests, lakes, mountains, ruins, cities, etc.
Consistent artistic tone across multiple maps (each face is visually distinct but stylistically unified)
Preferably vector-based or high-resolution raster output (PNG or layered PSD)
Ideal candidate:
Strong experience with fantasy cartography (please include portfolio)
Familiar with tools like Procreate, Photoshop, Wonderdraft, or Inkarnate
Ability to follow visual lore and worldbuilding guidance
Communicative and collaborative – we provide creative direction and sample layouts
Comfortable with multiple iterations and feedback if needed
Success story sharing
