Modifying a Previous Company Logo

I have a client who is modifying their logo as they pivot their business. Originally an automotive parts manufacturer for vehicles from many different countries, the owners are now scaling down to an automotive repair & performance facility. The brand will change from PastPower Innovations to PastPower Automotive, and the usage of the current flag arrangement won't be necessary, although using some variation of a checkered flag would be acceptable. They will also be utilizing a branding tagline, and I'll be happy to discuss that further with the chosen designer.
