Description

We are seeking an experienced Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS) specialist for a critical research project focused on electric vehicle (EV) fire safety in a large underground parking structure. The objective is to model and simulate several fire scenarios to analyze heat and smoke propagation, assess tenability conditions, and evaluate the effectiveness of built-in fire protection systems. The results will form a key component of a research thesis.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop a 3D FDS model based on architectural and mechanical plans to be provided.Set up and execute a series of fire simulations based on predefined scenarios, including cases with and without mechanical ventilation and active fire suppression.Conduct a thorough analysis of simulation outputs to extract key data points and trends.Prepare and deliver a comprehensive package of results in a structured and timely manner.Required Deliverables:The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a complete set of deliverables, including:
Raw Simulation Data: Exported CSV files for key output variables, including time-history data for temperature, visibility, gas concentrations (CO/HCN), and total Heat Release Rate (HRR) at specified locations.Visual Outputs: A set of high-resolution images from Smokeview, including temperature and smoke density maps at key time intervals (e.g., 5 minutes into the simulation). Sequential images for video generation may also be requested.
Structured Analysis Framework: As a core component of the analysis, you will be required to populate a set of predefined summary tables. This involves a systematic, minute-by-minute documentation of key performance indicators (such as maximum temperature, visibility levels, etc.) and a qualitative assessment based on simulation observations. This framework is designed to ensure all research questions are methodically answered.
Comparative Summary: A brief report analyzing the key differences and outcomes between the simulated scenarios.Qualifications:
Proven expertise in FDS and Smokeview.Strong professional background in fire engineering, CFD, and heat transfer.Demonstrable experience in modeling fires in complex geometries. Experience with vehicle or EV fires is a significant asset.Ability to deliver precise, well-documented results under a tight deadline.

I am looking for the right individual to do a proofread (thought flow, grammar etc.) for my book. The book itself is my letter to the Church. I was once part of a group, and was forced to leave in late 2020. Last year, I typed out a 4 page letter and sent it out to 15 groups in the city not so far from me. I wanted to have a conversation with the leaders, on why decisions were made. Only 2/15 leaders responded back to me. As a result of the former, this book started to become a reality. More importantly, is the subject matter. The book itself is specifically that of the Church, and how COVID made an impact within. Additionally, I go into some history of political ideologies (Communism, Nazism) and a bit into the Masons). These are for the purpose of relating what was, to that of history. In saying the above, this book is not endorsing the Church, nor that of secularism. Rather, it is asking the hard questions, pointing out the obvious contradictions and such, and trying to get people to engage in dialogue. The scripture verses referenced and prayer, are for the purpose(s) of relating to those within the 4 walls. My experiences which are mentioned/explained, are based on real happenings. The ideal candidate will check of the following boxes. -very and completely objective -see/understand why I am trying to connect up various aspects to the main topics (COVID and the Church) -ensure proper thought/word/chapter flow etc. -suggest thought/word/chapter revisions if something is off/missing -keep the formatting as is (due to continuity with my other 2 books) As for the footnotes, I will do that up, once all the chapters are in order. Word Count: approx. 26, 000 Thank you in advance for all those who are interested in this project
