Set up a high-deliverability cold email system for 8 domains using Hetzner CCX13 servers, Postal SMTP, and Purelymail for inboxing, excluding warming (handled separately).
Responsibilities1. Server Infrastructure SetupDeploy 8x Hetzner CCX13 servers (2 vCPU, 8GB RAM, 80GB SSD).Configure Ubuntu 22.04 LTS (optimized for Postal).Secure servers:Firewall (ufw), SSH key authentication, fail2ban.Automated backups (via rsync or Hetzner Snapshots).
2. Postal SMTP Installation & ConfigurationInstall Postal on each server (1 domain per server).
Configure:SPF, DKIM, DMARC, PTR records (domain authentication).SMTP credentials for sending accounts.Rate limiting (to avoid bursts)- nothing more than 150 emails per day across all accounts (4) per domainTest SMTP connectivity (telnet, swaks).
3. Purelymail Inbox SetupCreate IMAP mailboxes for replies only- but this will all run through instantly, its purely to receive mailsVerify MX records for Purelymail reception.ALL SENT EMAILS VIA POSTAL
4. Domain MigrationUpdate MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC records post-migration.
5. Monitoring & MaintenanceSet up Postal logs + Grafana (for bounce/spam tracking).Document full system architecture for future scaling.
