I need someone with a wide range of access to academic books, journals, articles to help me: search and summarise in a matrix (using Harvard referencing) and a key pargraph/takeaways from each source for my dissertation. Here are the key themes: 1. AI Applications in Retail Banking • Explore various AI applications in retail banking, such as customer service automation, risk assessment, fraud detection, personalised marketing, and chatbots. • Utilise Disruption Theory (Christensen, 1997) to analyse how AI-powered FinTech companies create new value networks for financial services, potentially displacing established banks. This framework allows for an examination of the value propositions, target markets, and competitive strategies of both banks and FinTechs, assessing the level of disruption AI is causing within the industry (Research Objectives 1 & 2). 2. Disruption vs. Enablement • Investigate instances where AI is disrupting traditional banking models, leading to changes in market dynamics, customer expectations, and competitive landscapes. • Employ Technological Determinism to emphasize the transformative power of technology. By examining the specific functionalities and capabilities of AI applications in banking, such as customer service chatbots and risk assessment algorithms, gain a deeper understanding of how AI reshapes customer experiences, operational processes, and risk management practices within banks (Research Objectives 1 & 2). 3. Customer Experience Transformation • Discuss how AI-driven technologies are transforming customer experiences in retail banking, including personalised recommendations, seamless interactions, and faster problem resolution. • Utilize Business Model Innovation (Osterwalder & Pigneur, 2010) to analyze how banks leverage AI to create new value propositions for customers. Explore how AI personalizes financial products and services, improves efficiency, and expands access to banking (financial inclusion), identifying innovative business models emerging in response to AI adoption (Research Objectives 2 & 4). 4. Consumer Perceptions and Trust • Investigate consumer perceptions and trust in AI-driven banking services, considering concerns about data privacy, security, and bias. • Employ Agency Theory (Eisenhardt, 1988) to analyze how banks can align the interests of AI with those of customers to ensure responsible use. This framework will guide the analysis of how banks can mitigate potential biases in AI-driven decision-making processes and maintain customer trust (Research Objectives 3 & 4). 5. Ethical and Regulatory Implications • Explore the ethical implications of AI in banking, particularly regarding data privacy, algorithmic fairness, and regulatory compliance. • Incorporate the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence (Jobin et al., 2019) framework to gain a nuanced understanding of these ethical implications, ensuring responsible AI deployment within banking (Research Objectives 3 & 4). 6. Workforce Dynamics and Reskilling • Analyse the potential impact of AI on bank workforces and the need for reskilling initiatives. • Utilize the Skill-Biased Technological Change framework (Autor et al., 2003) to understand the potential implications of AI on bank workforces and the skills required in the AI-driven banking landscape (Research Objective 2 & 4).
