Description

We have a project for about 20-30 days (over 2 to 3 months) to use PHP (and a small amount of Python to move any reusable code from our legacy application into the new codebase without rewriting from the ground up.
The project is being led by the client's in house developer and you would be able to work to you own schedule with thier support.

Codebase Review & Optimisation Audit and clean existing code (likely JS/Node/React). Ensure logic is modular, secure, and scalable. Suggest improvements or full rebuild if necessary. I require an experienced freelancer to optimize the performance of my web application and ensure high availability. The single page application was created using React and uses Firebase as its backend service for user authentication, database and hosting. It is currently experiencing intermittent errors that cause the site to briefly go offline. The chosen freelancer will be required to inspect the application code and identify any issues preventing stable performance or causing errors. This may involve debugging any frontend or backend code as needed. Optimization of database queries, indexing and application routing should be performed to enhance load times and responsiveness. Thorough testing is required across all device form factors and browsers. Once errors are resolved, the site deployment procedures on Firebase hosting will need evaluating to ensure automatic redeploys and caching are configured appropriately.
