A social media website (like Reddit with voting)

I am looking to build a social networking website basically from scratch. The final product would look like something between Facebook and Reddit (closer to Reddit, but with some other features like voting). It should be both desktop and mobile-friendly.
I would like to understand what kind of deliverables/milestones and what kind of timelines would be involved. I understand that this would not be a small project and could take months or years. It will likely also be an iterative process (so I would also get to hear your feedback about what is and what is not possible).
